A little bit about meHi, I'm Ashleigh! I'm a watercolour artist, surface pattern designer, and mum of two based in New Zealand.
I've licensed over 100 designs with brands like Studio Oh, Alice & Ames, Hawthorne Supply Co and Sand + Fog, and I built most of this business during school hours.
Pinterest is my number one source of licensing enquiries. It consistently outperforms every other platform I use for getting my work discovered by brands, and I still get enquiries from pins I posted years ago.
I created this guide because I wish someone had handed it to me when I was starting out. It's not complicated, and you don't need a big following or a perfectly curated profile to begin. You just need to know where to start.
