Art Licensing FAQs
-
Art licensing is where you can ‘rent’ art work to use in your business e.g you may license a design of mine to use on a product you sell.
Licensing can be non exclusive or exclusive and is for a set time period. -
Non exclusive licensing means you can license a design from me to be printed onto your products. This same design can also be used by other companies, as well as being sold by me on sites such as Spoonflower.
I will retain the copyright for the design.
No license is required to sell goods made with fabric featuring my designs when bought from Spoonflower, Cloth Cuts, For Fabric Sake or any other fabric retailer. -
For an exclusive license we will negotiate and agree on terms for the use of the design.
This license will be specific to your industry and territory. For example, if the license is for childrenswear in USA I could still license the same design for Childrenswear in New Zealand (different territory), or for a different category like wallpaper or stationary) in USA.
I will retain the copyright and ownership of the design.
At the end of the agreed time period, you will have first right to renew the license. If you do not renew the license the rights return to me, the artist. -
Yes! I have a portfolio you can see it here. It’s organised by theme and by collection.
You can also browse my spoonflower store which has some extra designs not in my portfolio -
Yes I can customise colours to suit. Vector work can be changed to specific colours e.g pantone. Watercolour work can have the background colour changed and minor tweaks made to colour. Please fill in my licensing enquiry form to discuss how I can help you.
