The Confident Pitch Method.

The Confident Pitch Method.

Pitching your work as a surface pattern designer doesn’t have to feel terrifying.

Learn The Confident Pitch Method and start reaching out to brands with ease

I’ll cover exactly what to say, who to contact, and how to follow up without feeling pushy, so you can finally land those dream collaborations

Most surface pattern designers stall here: you’ve got the portfolio…

but the idea of actually hitting ‘send’ on a pitch email makes your stomach flip.

What if they hate it? What if they never respond? What if you’re annoying them?

That’s why I created The Confident Pitch Method! to take the guesswork (and fear) out of reaching out to art directors and brands.

Once your portfolio is polished, you’re ready to pitch. Together, these two courses give you the full picture: your work beautifully presented and the confidence to send it out into the world

The Exact Skills to Pitch Your Work Like a Pro

Without Feeling Salesy

  • Pinterest for surface pattern designers workshop

    Research with confidence

Stop wasting time guessing who to contact. Learn exactly how to find your dream companies, identify the right brands and art directors, and increase your chances of hearing yes. You’ll also know whether to focus on smaller brands or go after the big names, and when.

  • Pinterest for surface pattern designers course

    Pitch with confidence

No more staring at a blank email draft. Get proven email templates that show you exactly what to say (and what not to). You’ll know when to send a portfolio vs. a sales sheet, and how to track your outreach like a pro, so you always know where things stand.

  • Follow up with Confidence

    Follow up with Confidence

Following up doesn’t have to feel pushy. I’ll teach you how to follow up with ease, what to do when you get a yes (contracts, next steps, professionalism), and how to gracefully handle a no. Plus, you’ll learn how to automate parts of the process without losing that personal touch.

By the end of this method, you won’t just know how to make a pitch, you’ll have the confidence of knowing exactly what to say, who to send it to, and how to follow up without feeling pushy.

Imagine the relief of finally hitting send on your emails and closing your laptop at the end of the day thinking,
yes, I actually know how to get my work in front of the right people.

before this method

You’ve polished your portfolio (or at least, you’re working on it)… but now what?

  • You have no idea who to actually send it to, or how to even find the right companies and art directors.

  • You’re staring at a blank email draft, second-guessing every word, terrified of sounding too salesy (or too desperate).

  • You don’t know when to follow up, how often, or what to do when you get radio silence.

  • You worry you’ll annoy someone if you reach out twice, so you don’t reach out at all.

  • You wonder if you should try smaller brands first… or swing for the big names… or wait until your work feels “more ready.”

  • Secretly, you’re scared of rejection — so you stay stuck in research mode, telling yourself you’ll pitch someday.

But imagine if you could…

  • - 01 -

    Send pitches with total confidence.

No more second-guessing your words or overthinking every email. You’ll have templates and strategies that make reaching out feel clear, natural, and professional, instead of nerve-wracking.

  • - 02 -

    Know exactly who to contact
    (and how to find them).

Imagine having a clear system for researching companies, finding art directors’ emails, and tracking your outreach, so you always know where things stand. No more “am I even sending this to the right person?”

  • - 03 -

Follow up without the fear of being “too pushy.”

You’ll know exactly when and how to follow up, how to handle a yes, how to handle a no, and how to keep doors open for the future. Picture opening your inbox to a reply from a dream brand because you followed a simple, proven process.

the Confident pitch method

Introducing
you need this because

You don’t need more artwork to start.
You need a clear, confident system for pitching your work to the right people.

The #1 reason surface pattern designers stay stuck isn’t lack of talent, it’s fear of sending the pitch. Waiting until they “feel ready.” Overthinking what to say. Worrying about bothering people.

But here’s the truth: you don’t need to be fearless, and you don’t need to reinvent the wheel.

You just need a proven process that shows you who to reach out to, what to say, and how to follow up, so your work actually gets seen.

what are you waiting for?

what are you waiting for?

  • To feel “ready”?

You might never feel 100% ready to hit send. Imposter syndrome has a sneaky way of convincing you to wait until you feel braver, or until your work feels “perfect.” Except perfection doesn’t exist.

And while you’re waiting for that magical moment, those dream clients aren’t seeing your work… and opportunities are passing you by.

The only way to quiet the fear is through action. With a clear framework to follow, every pitch builds confidence, and progress will always take you further than perfection ever could.

  • For the “right contacts"?

It’s easy to believe you need insider connections, a list of secret emails, or an art director’s phone number to break in. But the truth? Every designer starts from zero.

What matters isn’t who you know, it’s having a simple, repeatable process for researching companies, finding the right people, and keeping track of your outreach so nothing slips through the cracks.

With the right system, you’ll stop spinning your wheels and start building genuine relationships with the brands you admire, without wasting months wondering if you’re even pitching the right person.

  • For the “perfect timing”?

Less chaos. More time. Older kids. A different season.

But here’s the truth: there will never be a perfect time to start pitching. The brands you dream of working with won’t magically find you if you keep waiting.

And those “someday” pitches? They’re the difference between staying stuck… and finally hearing yes.

The right time isn’t someday. It’s now. And I’ll show you how to make pitching doable, even in the middle of real life.

Think of it like this:

your portfolio sits quietly on your website, waiting to be found

a confident pitch lands it directly in the inbox of the brands you dream of working with.

I’ve designed this method to be doable, even if you’re short on time or confidence. If you follow the steps, you’ll know exactly who to pitch, what to say, and how to follow up, no guessing, no overwhelm.

Is this you? Let’s find out…

This Method Is For You If…

  • You’re not sure how to even start a pitch, who to email, which companies to target, or how to track down art directors and brands that fit your style..

  • The thought of rejection makes your stomach sink, you worry your work isn’t “good enough,” or you’ll sound pushy if you reach out.

  • You freeze when it comes to writing the email, not knowing what to say, how to personalise, or even what subject line will get opened.

  • You don’t know how to find and research the right target companies, or how to align your art with their style.

  • You worry about following up, how many times is too many, what to do with a “no,” or how to keep momentum when you hear nothing back.

  • You want step-by-step guidance, not fluff or overwhelm.

This Method Is not For You If…

  • You’re looking for a shortcut that skips the work of actually sending pitches.

  • You’re not ready to share your work with brands yet (in that case, start with The Polished Portfolio Method first).

  • You’re not interested in licensing your work or working with brands.

  • You expect every pitch to turn into an instant yes, pitching is about building relationships over time, not overnight success.

  • You’re not ready to take action and prefer to keep “waiting until someday”.

  • You’re unwilling to follow up, refine your process, or keep learning from the responses you get.

  • You’d rather wait for clients to “find you” than put your work in front of them. (then you may prefer my Pinterest Workshop).

Meet your mentor

Hey, I’m Ashleigh Fish, artist, surface pattern designer, educator, and your biggest cheerleader.

I actually started out studying education with plans to become a teacher, but life had other ideas. Travel, motherhood, and a creative spark led me down a different path, one that turned into my true passion: surface pattern design.

Since then, I’ve had the joy of collaborating with brands like RJR Fabrics, Alice & Ames, Sand + Fog, Hawthorne Supply Co., and Loomwell, seeing my hand-painted patterns come to life on fabric, clothing, and home goods.

And now? I’m here to help you do the same.

Inside The Confident Pitch Method, I’m sharing everything I’ve learned about reaching out to brands in a way that feels clear, doable, and genuinely professional, so your work actually gets seen. My goal is to take the fear and second-guessing out of pitching, and give you the exact steps to connect with the clients you dream of working with.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

It is well worth the investment.

You don’t make any money doing nothing with your work.
